Avondale Agricultural Museum is located on Avondale Farm. The collection spans 100 years of farming history in Western Australia which tells a story of the development of farming in Western Australia. Avondale Farm is owned by the National Trust Australia Western Australia. Avondale was one of the first farms surveyed in Beverley and was granted to James Stirling in 1833. The property features many heritage buildings including 1850s homestead, 1920s silage silo, 1960s garage and 1890s workshop. It is permanently listed on the state-heritage register. There is also a stable complex which was built in 1890, complete with horse works, chaff-cutter and forge. A fauna and flora reserve is being developed in a rare attempt to restore an area to its natural state after nearly 150 years of grazing. A walk trail is being developed to allow visitors sustainable access. You can also check out the historic homestead furnished in period style and set in traditional colonial gardens, or take the 6 kilometre farm drive trail around the property. The picnic area has free gas barbecues and children's adventure playground.
