The Henry Jones Art Hotel is an enthralling first-class boutique hotel on Hobart’s waterfront. As Australia’s first dedicated art hotel, the Henry Jones merges one of Tasmania’s most significant industrial heritage sites – H. Jones and Co. Pty. Ltd. IXL Jam Factory – with a sleek design and contemporary Tasmanian artwork to create a sophisticated and deeply engaging accommodation experience on Hobart’s waterfront.
52 Rooms and four suites are each individually designed and furnished, preserving untouched heritage features and nineteenth-century sandstone walls with views of Hobart’s harbour, city, and mountains. Luxury fittings adorn every room, with comfortable king-size beds draped in exotic silk covers and ottomans.
The hotel exhibits over 400 original and contemporary artworks at any one time, dedicated to showcasing Tasmania’s emerging and established artists in every room and space of the hotel. Feature exhibitions are constantly on display in the Packing Room and daily 60-minute art and history tours of the hotel are hosted by History Liaison Greg Ball and Art Liaison Emine Lewis, to detail the rich history and interpret perplexing artworks to guests.
