Located in the Tumbarumba Shire on the southwestern slopes of the Snowy Mountains, 504km south west of Sydney and 701 metres above sea level. Tumbarumba is 2 hours from Canberra and about the same from Albury. As the town is not on a main highway or railway it has retained typical Southern NSW small town character. A pleasant main wide street and splendid park make the town a lovely stopping point.
